# 熱原測試
熱原測試可判斷非專用藥品中是否存在熱原，並受食品藥物管理局 (FDA)、美國藥典 (USP) 或歐洲藥典 (EP) 等組織的多項標準規範。產品的無菌性並不代表其不含熱原。因此，聲稱無菌的藥物也必須進行熱原檢測，以防止患者發生發熱反應。
熱原污染可能發生在藥品、生物治療劑和醫療器材的生產或使用過程中，但熱原的存在也可能是產品的固有特性，例如疫苗中的佐劑或合成脂肽。

致熱原是一種透過啟動先天性免疫系統而導致人類或動物體溫上升（發燒反應）的物質。它們構成了由微生物和非微生物物質組成的異質污染物群。熱原可分為兩類：內毒素和非內毒素熱原 (NEP)。
內毒素是存在於革蘭氏陰性細菌中的物質。非內毒素熱原是其他微生物物質，包括源自於革蘭陽性細菌或病毒的物質，以及源自於酵母菌和真菌的熱原。非微生物熱原物質也可能源自橡膠微粒、塑膠微粒或彈性體中的金屬化合物。
目前有幾種檢測熱原的測試方法。這些方法可根據其檢測的污染物類型以及進行檢測時對動物材料的需求進行分類，如下表所述：

兔熱原試驗 (RPT) 是指測量兔子在靜脈注射受試產品後的體溫上升情況。RPT 可提供定性結果，靈敏度相當低。測試的穩定性也受到限制，這是由於兔子在重複注射後會產生熱原耐受性，或在進行測試時兔子會產生壓力。
