Biochem/physiol Actions

Adenylate cyclase toxin from Bordetella pertussis belongs to the family of pore-forming toxins. It converts host ATP to cyclic AMP (cAMP). May be used to affect intracellular cAMP levels in mammalian cells.

Unit Definition

One unit will produce 1.0 μmol cAMP from ATP per minute at pH 8.0 at 30 °C

When reconstituted with 50 μL of water, the protein is in 0.05 M Tris, 8 M urea, 0.002 M EDTA, pH 8.0.
