phospho-Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor (pTyr1173) ELISA detects EGFR phosphorylated at tyrosine 1073 in cell lysates and biological fluids.

Biochem/physiol Actions

EGFR, a member of the family of receptor tyrosine kinases, is a full length, type I transmembrane glycoprotein. In vivo phosphorylation of EGFR specific tyrosine sites, including Tyr1173 or Tyr1068, activates EGFR and downstream molecules.

Features and Benefits

EGFR ELISAs are fast (total time 4 hours), sensitive, and specific assays. The kit contains precoated plates, all incubations proceed at room temperature, and no proprietary equipment is required.

Analysis Note

Specifically measures human EGFR protein phosphorylated on tyrosine 1173 with a sensitivity <0.3 units/mL, which is 10 times more sensitive than immunoblotting. Does not detect non-phosphorylated EGFR.
