L-Glutamic acid has been used as a supplement for selection medium, SORB-TOP-His.[91]

Biochem/physiol Actions

L-Glutamic acid along with l-Lysine is used for preparation of Bifunctional DTPA-like Ligands. L-glutamic acid can stimulate the spontaneous release of [3H] dopamine ( [³H] DA).[17]

An excitatory amino acid neurotransmitter that is an agonist at all subtypes of glutamate receptors (metabotropic, kainate, NMDA, and AMPA).
