Description

General description

Bromoform is a major organic source for atmospheric reactive bromine BrO_x (Br+BrO)[21]. It is formed as a product of chlorination of drinking water[26]. It undergoes photodissociation to form the Br₂ fragment and mechanism has been investigated by cavity ring-down absorption spectroscopy[22]

Application

Bromoform was used to evaluate the genotoxicity of chlorodibromomethane, bromodichloromethane and bromoform[26]
