Why is Lithium Aluminum Hydride, #199877, not packaged in a rigid container in the USA? The web site says it is packaged in plastic bags in Europe. The sample we received was in a plastic bag (in an outer can).

The 10G and 25G sizes are packaged in amber glass bottles in an overpack safety can. The 100G, 500G, and 1KG sizes are packaged in polyamide bags, then placed in a re-sealable paint-style can, followed by an overpack safety can. Currently, this is the packaging schematic for all materials, globally.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers.
