Application

Zincon sodium salt has been used to locate zinc in plant tissues by light microscopy.[1]

General description

Zincon is a formazan dye,[2] that serves as a metal indicator and is applicable in chelometric titration.[3] It is used in spectrometric analysis.[2] The metal-zincon complex formed shows a prominent absorption band in the visible region.[4] Zincon is also used in solid support electrophoresis for staining zinc proteins.[2]
