General description

Nigrosin is a black colored powder.[1] It is widely used to manufacture ink and shoe polish. It is also employed for dyeing leather, wood and textiles. In addition, alcohol soluble nigrosin dye is used in carbon papers, typewriter and ribbons.[2] It is used as an ingredient in rubber repairing lacquer.[3]
