Basic blue 3 (BB3) can be removed from aqueous solutions with the help of activated carbon prepared from rubber seed coat.
Basic blue 3 (C.I. 51104) is a cationic dye. It is generally positively charged in an aqueous solution.

Application

Basic blue 3 has a brilliant blue shade and thus has been used as a colorant in dyeing acrylic fabrics.
