Application

Thickener for aqueous and non-aqueous systems, clear films with grease resistance, binders, lubricants, steric stabilizer and water retention aid.

Features and Benefits

Dissolves in water, undergoes reversible gelation upon heating, non-ionic, does not complex with ionic species and is surface active and enzyme resistant. Solutions are pseudoplastic.

  1. I bought, Cas No;9004-65-3, 423181 (Hydroxypropyl)methyl cellulose its average Mn-90,000, however, there is no information about its methoxy and propylene oxide contents. Also, I couldn't reach any information about its viscosity. Can you enlighten me?

    1. The methoxy and propylene oxide contents are as follows:
      1.1-1.6 mol methoxy per mol cellulose (D.S.) 21 wt. % methoxy
      0.1-0.3 mol propylene oxide per mol cellulose (M.S.) 5 wt. % propylene oxide

      The viscosity value will be listed on the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis. Please see the sample Certificate of Analysis below:
