Gallium-Indium eutectic (EGAIn) is an electrically conductive fluid metal.The eutectic is composed of 75.5% Ga and 24.5% In by weight. The resistivity of EGAIn is ~29.4X10-6 W-cm.The low viscosity liquid is easily moldable and useful for various electronic applications.

Application

Flowability of EGAIn in electronic microchannels was studied. The influence of oxidative conditions on the mechanical properties of EGAIn have been reported.Development of spherical and non-spherical EGAIn microdroplets in microchannels at room temperature was investigated. Gallium-Indium eutectic top contact may be used to test P3HT-PCBM organic solar cells. The wetting behavior of the liquid on a microtextured surface was reported. EGAIn may be used to coat anodized alumina templates prior to the electrodeposition of Ni nanowires on it.
