Application

Silica gel has been used for the solid phase extraction (SPE) fractionation of organohalogen compounds in biological organ tissues.[1] Silica gel column may be employed for the clean-up procedures in multiresidue methods of pesticide analyses[2] and as a support for the fabrication of pentachlorophenol (PCP)-imprinted functionalized sorbents for the analysis of trace pentachlorophenol in water samples by SPE combined with high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).[3]
