General description

1-Allyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide is an ionic liquid that can be prepared by reacting 1-allyl-3-methylimidazolium chloride and lithium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide under microwave conditions.

Application

1-Allyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide can be used to prepare AMIMTFSI-propylene carbonate based electrolyte, with potential application in lithium-ion batteries. It also finds application in alkanes/alkenes separation process. AMIMTFSI can be used as a surface protector to develop luminescent silicon nanoparticles.
