Morphine is a very potent opiate analgesic drug used to relieve both acute and chronic severe pain. Sold under trade names including MS Contin®, Kadian®, Oramorph®, and Roxanol, morphine is also a commonly abused recreational drug due to its widespread availability and high potential for addiction.
