General description

Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a dimeric protein used by the thyroid gland to produce the thyroid hormones thyroxine (T4) and triiodothyronine (T3). Thyroglobulin levels are measured to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment for differentiated thyroid carcinoma (DTC) and to monitor for DTC recurrence. Thyroglobulin testing may also be performed to help determine the cause of hyperthyroidism and to monitor the treatment effectiveness of Graves′ disease. This standard confirms to the criteria of a Primary Standard and a Certified Reference Material, as defined by the ISO guidelines. It is traceable to both the SI and higher-order standards through a continuous series of precise comparisons. The diluent used is SigMatrix (2% recombinant human albumin in phosphate buffered saline). Use a minimum of 10 µL sample for quantitative applications.

Application

Thyroglobulin solution is suitable for use as a starting material in calibrators and controls in liquid chromatography with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) thyroglobulin testing methods.

Features and Benefits

  • This standard is certified in accordance with ISO 17034, ISO/IEC 17025, and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Concentration is cross verified against an independently and gravimetrically prepared calibration solution.
  • Every raw material employed in the standard has been identified and subjected to comprehensive characterization.
  • Stability for a minimum of 48 months has been confirmed through real-time stability studies.

Preparation Note

  • To prevent concentration changes resulting from evaporation, it is advisable to use the product shortly after opening.
  • Certified values cannot be guaranteed for ampoules that have been stored after opening.

Other Notes

Thyroglobulin solution is suitable for R&D/analytical purposes only. This product′s purpose is for testing. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT INTENDED FOR HUMAN OR THERAPEUTIC USE.
