Description

General description

Retinyl acetate, a natural preform of vitamin A, is classified as generally recognized as safe in the amounts used to fortify foods with vitamin A and is especially recommended for maternal supplementation during pregnancy.

Application

Retinyl acetate solution may be used as a certified reference material (CRM) for the determination of the analyte in biological samples,[1] dairy foods[2] and pharmaceutical formulations[3] by chromatography techniques.

This certified solution standard is suitable for use as an internal standard in chromatographic or MS-based methods in clinical testing applications such as assessment of vitamin A deficiency or in food and nutrition testing applications of vitamin A supplements and fortified foods.
