General description

Interleukin-17A (IL-17A) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine primarily produced by Th17 cells, which are a subset of CD4+ T cells. It plays a crucial role in mediating immune responses against extracellular pathogens and is involved in the pathogenesis of various autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis. IL-17A promotes the recruitment of neutrophils and enhances the production of other inflammatory mediators, contributing to the regulation of tissue inflammation and repair.

Application

Inflammatory Disease / Immune Response / Autoimmune Disease

Biochem/physiol Actions

Although IL-17A was detectable in rat, mouse, equine, rabbit and canine samples, the assay has not been verified for these species.

Features and Benefits

  • Unmatched Detection Capability: Utilizing SMC® technology, this assay offers superior performance in quantifying IL-17A in human serum and plasma, ensuring precise and reliable measurements.
  • Advance Autoimmune & Inflammatory Disease Research: IL-17A is a key cytokine in Th17-mediated immunity. This assay supports studies in psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis, IBD, and other chronic inflammatory conditions.
  • Enable Early Biomarker Discovery: High sensitivity allows detection of subclinical cytokine shifts, supporting early-stage biomarker identification and therapeutic target validation.
  • Improve Data Quality & Confidence: Low background and high signal-to-noise ratio ensure robust, publication-ready data.

Analysis Note

  • Sensitivity: LLOQ 70 fg/mL* (SMCxPRO® instrument
  • Standard Curve Range: 20-60,000 fg/mL
  • Intra-assay CV: <15%
  • Inter-assay CV: <20%
  • Linearity: Serum: 106% Plasma: 93%
  • Recovery: Serum: 92% Plasma: 103%

* Indicative LLOQ created from average of 14 independent in house runs, where >80% met same value defined with CV & Recovery +/- 20%. Refer to CoA for lot specific performance.
