- as a silane coupling agent to treat cellulose nanocrystals (CNCs)
- as an adhesion layer/promoter prior to deposition of Parylene C for magnetic microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) fabrication
- to bind the polyacrylamide gels to the glass plate for silver staining
