General description

HPLC column
LiChrospher® RP-18 endcapped is a reliable and versatile traditionally produced spherical silica gel carrier with C-18 endcapped reversed phase properties. It is well suited for the separation of neutral, acidic and weak basic compounds. This sorbent is packed into a LiChroCART 250-4.6 HPLC cartridge. The connection to the HPLC system is being accomplished by use of the manu-CART NT cartrige holder (1.51486).

Questions

  1. Are the following columns available for a US method: 4 mm x 30 cm and 4.0 mm x 15 cm, both packed with L1?

    1 answer
    1. The 4 mm x 30 cm USP L1 HPLC column is not offered due to the high back pressure created by 30 cm columns, which can overpressure systems with a typical pressure limit of 4000 PSI, even with a 5um packing. However, a 15 cm x 4mm ID C18 (USP L1) column is available, and two columns can be coupled together to make a 30 cm column. There are two types of HPLC Column Couplers with 10.32 threaded fittings. Coupler 54986 is a standard PEEK 10.32 to 10.32 Coupler that can be used with any column with 10.32 end fittings. HPLC Column Coupler 55213 is used to couple two columns together, which butts the two columns head-to-head.
