General description

Native apolipoprotein C-II from human plasma. Found primarily in VLDL and chylomicrons. Functions as a cofactor for lipoprotein lipase. Elevated serum levels of Apo C-II are common in type I, III, IV, and V hyperlipoproteinemia. Low serum concentrations of Apo C-II are indicative of nephrotic syndrome (Tangier’s Disease).
