General description

Note: 1 KU = 1000 units.
Recombinant, mouse γ-interferon, consisting of 134 amino acids, expressed in E. coli as a single, non-glycosylated polypeptide. A multi-functional protein exhibiting antiviral and antitumor properties. Regulates the development of specific immune responses. Protects against bacterial sepsis in murine models.

Biochem/physiol Actions

<0.1 ng/ml (<1 x 10⁷ U/mg) as determined by cytopathic affect inhibition assay using murine NIH 3T3 cells treated with EMC virus.

Preparation Note

Dilute only in buffers containing protein such as 0.1% BSA.
