General description

Potassium tert-butylate (Potassium tert-Butoxide) is a strong, non-nucleophilic alkoxide base in organic chemistry. Potassium tert-butoxide catalyzes the reaction of hydro silanes and heterocyclic compounds to generate the silyl derivatives. It is used to catalyze the Michael addition reaction, Ramberg-Baecklund reaction, Pinacol rearrangement.[1]

Application

Potassium tert-butylate is used to catalyzes the Michael addition reaction.[2]
