General description

Pancreatic and duodenal homeobox 1, also known as PDX1, and Insulin promoter factor 1 is a human gene. This islet-specific protein activates transcription of the insulin andsomatostatin genes. It is a key regulator of islet peptide hormone expressionn and also plays an essential role in pancreatic development. Mutations in this gene may be involved in several disorders of the pancreas or in diabetes mellitus.

Specificity

Recognizes PDX-1

Immunogen

KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to region amino acids 90-120 of human PDX-1.

Application

Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50 dilution from a representative lot detected pdx-1 in the islets of Langerhans of human and mouse pancreas.
This Anti-PDX-1 Antibody is validated for use in Western Blotting and Immunohistochemistry for the detection of PDX-1.

Quality

Evaluated by Western Blotting in mouse pancreatic beta cell tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:4,000 dilution of this antibody detected PDX-1 in mouse pancreatic beta cell tissue lysate.

Target description

~38 kDa observed
