Analysis Note

Evaluated by Western Blotting in mouse stomach tissue lysate.

Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected HSD17B7 in 10 ug of mouse stomach tissue lysate.

Application

Anti-HSD17B7 Antibody is an antibody against HSD17B7 for use in Western Blotting, Immunohistochemistry, Immunocytochemistry.
Immunohistochemistry Analysis: A 1:50-250 dilution from a representative lot detected HSD17B7 in mouse ovary sections and human adrenal gland tissue.
Western Blotting Analysis: A representative lot detected HSD17B7 in rat, mouse, cow, hamster, bovine,

General description

3-keto-steroid reductase (UniProt Q62904; EC 1.1.1.270, EC 1.1.1.62; also known as PRAP, 17-beta-HSD 7, PRL receptor-associated protein, Estradiol 17-beta-dehydrogenase 7, 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 7, Hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase 17 beta, type 7) is encoded by the Hsd17b7 gene in rat (Entrez Gene ID 29540). Hsd17b7 protein is most abundantly expressed in ovaries of pregnant animals and functions both as a 17-beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (EC 1.1.1.62) in the biosynthesis of sex steroids, as well as as a 3-ketosteroid reductase (EC 1.1.1.270) in the biosynthesis of cholesterol. Cat. No. ABS1009, Anti-HSD17B7, is a rabbit polyclonal antiserum raised against native rat protein, and shows reactivity toward rat, human, mouse, hamster, and bovine species (PMID 1425419).

Immunogen

Purified protein corresponding to rat HSD17B7.

Historically chromatin was considered to contain only DNA, histones, non-histone proteins and transiently associated mRNAs. While this remains true, current data suggest that a variety of non-coding RNAs (e.g. long non-coding RNAs, enhancer RNAs and even miRNAs) also associate with chromatin and serve regulatory functions.
