Biochem/physiol Actions

This antibody is specific to CD49f (integrin alpha6) chain) which is expressed on epithelial and endothelial basement membrane. The VLA alpha6 chain, which consists of a single disulfide linked 120 kDa subunit and a small doublet subunit of 25/30 kDa, is noncovalently-associated with the VLA beta-chain (CD29) in VLA-6 or alpha6/beta1 complex or with integrin beta4 chain (alpha6/beta4). The antigen is expressed on platelets, monocytes, thymocytes and T lymphocytes.
