General description

Metabolic hormones like insulin, leptin, ghrelin, adiponectin, and resistin are central to regulating energy homeostasis, appetite, and glucose metabolism. Insulin facilitates cellular glucose uptake; leptin signals satiety and modulates fat storage; ghrelin stimulates hunger; adiponectin improves insulin sensitivity and has anti-inflammatory effects; resistin is associated with insulin resistance and inflammation. Together, these hormones provide a dynamic snapshot of metabolic health and dysfunction.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 14 analytes in human serum, plasma, or tissue culture supernatants.

Analytes included: Amylin (active), Amylin (total), C-Peptide, Ghrelin (active), GIP (total), GLP-1 (active), GLP-1 (total), Glucagon, IL-6, Insulin, Leptin, MCP-1/CCL2, Pancreatic Polypeptide (PP), PYY (total), Secretin, and TNFα

Note: Amylin Active and Total cannot be run together in the same assay. GLP-1 Active and Total cannot be run together in the same assay. Some analytes require a protease inhibitor during sample collection.

  1. Could you provide me with the differences between the Human Metabolic Hormone Expanded Panel (HMHEMAG-34K) and the new Human Metabolic Hormone Panel V3 (HMH3-34K)?

    1. The following changes have been implemented:
      - Secretin has been added
      - Assay Buffer has been changed to LE-ABGLP3 to enhance Insulin and Glucagon Detection
      - The antibody pair for Insulin, IL-6, MCP-1, PP, and TNF-a has been replaced

  2. Would the BD P800 sample collection tubes be suitable for use in the Milliplex Human Metabolic Hormone Panel?

    1. The BD P800 tubes contain inhibitors for GLP-1 active, Amylin, and Glucagon, but not for Active Ghrelin. If you also want to include active Ghrelin, you will need to add AEBSF.
