General description

Durapore® membranes provide high flow rates and throughput, low extractables and broad chemical compatibility. Hydrophlic Durapore membrane binds far less protein than nylon, nitrocellulose, or PTFE membranes.

Features & Benefits
- Available in several pore sizes (both hydrophilic and hydrophobic varieties) to suit your application needs
- Durapore membrane filters have very low protein binding to minimize interaction with your sample and maximize recovery
Filter Code: HVLP
Filter Type: Screen filter
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which have been re-engineered to enable more sustainable research solutions. The inner & outer boxes containing the membrane discs are made from bio-circular material allocated using the ISCC mass balance approach. Click here for more information.

Application

Clarifying filtration of biological solutions

Other Notes

Directions for Use

  • Organism Retention: Microorganism
  • Mode of Action: Filtration (size exclusion)
  • Application: General laboratory filtration
  • Intended Use: Retention or removal of biological contaminants
  • Instructions for Use: Sterilizing filtration of a liquid through a membrane with a 0.2 μm (or smaller) pore size effectively removes biological contaminants, including bacteria, mold and yeast. For the selective retention of larger biological contaminents, liquid filtration through membranes with 0.45 μm (or larger) pore sizes may be used to trap and support microorganism growth for subsequent culture and analysis
  • Storage Statement: Store in dry location
  • Disposal Statement: Dispose of in accordance with applicable federal, state and local regulations.

Questions

  1. Hi Just wondering if this product would be suitable with DMSO filtration? We use HNWP02500 but this product doesn't seems to be available.

    1 answer
    1. Nylon membranes, with lower concentrated DMSO, will be compatible. Once a sample has increased concentration, it is not recommended to use Nylon with DMSO. We have tested 10% DMSO and that is fine to use Nylon. 100% DMSO is not recommended with Nylon membranes.
