General description

Prolactin (PRL) also known as luteotropic hormone is a neuroendocrine hormone secreted by the pituitary gland. It is commonly measured as part of a sex hormone screen to investigate fertility problems. Elevated levelso of PRL induce lactation and can inhibit secretion of gonadotropins such as Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) and Gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)
ELISA and Lateral Flow Immunoassay.
