General description

Adipocyte-related biomarkers such as adiponectin, leptin, resistin, IL-6, TNF-α, MCP-1, and PAI-1 play critical roles in regulating inflammation, insulin sensitivity, and energy metabolism. Adiponectin improves insulin responsiveness, leptin controls appetite and energy expenditure, and resistin is linked to insulin resistance and inflammatory signaling. IL-6 and TNF-α are key mediators of obesity-related inflammation, while MCP-1 and PAI-1 contribute to immune cell recruitment and metabolic dysfunction. Together, these analytes offer a comprehensive view of adipose tissue activity and its impact on metabolic health.

Application

MILLIPLEX® Qualified assays undergo rigorous assay development, verification, and Quality Control testing to achieve optimal performance. Simultaneously analyze up to 7 analytes in mouse cell culture supernatants.

Analytes included: Adiponectin, IL-6, Leptin, MCP-1, PAI-1 (Total), Resistin, TNF-α

Assay Characteristics: Refer to assay protocol for details on cross-reactivity, sensitivity, precision, and accuracy.

Questions

  1. Can the Mouse Adipocyte Milliplex kit (MADCYMAG-72K) be used with serum/plasma samples? The protocol only mentions cell/tissue culture supernatants.

    1 answer
    1. The Mouse Adipocyte kit is designed for use with cell/tissue culture supernatants, as Adiponectin cannot be measured at the same sample dilution as the other analytes in serum/plasma. Adiponectin requires a 1:5000 sample dilution, while the other analytes are run undiluted. For serum/plasma samples, we recommend using MADPNMAG-70K for Adiponectin and MADKMAG-71K for the remaining analytes.
