General description
The SSCMHB3A24 Lynx S2S contains the male couplings. When assembled with the female coupling, the sterile fluid path is enabled. Once assembled, the two components cannot be disassembled, reducing the risk of sterility breach.
This Lynx S2S unit has a 3/8 inch. diameter and a hose barb inlet/outlet connection.
Safe, Disposable Connectors
The Lynx S2S connector is disposable and intended for single-use, one-time actuation. There are no parts to clean-in-place, and the risk of contamination is reduced.
Sterility Assurance During Actuation
The Lynx S2S connector is 100% air-integrity tested in manufacturing.
Application
By design, a sterile connector should protect the fluid path by never exposing it to the open environment. The Lynx® S2S connector employs a solid plug, not a membrane or peel strip, which creates a gap for ingress of contamination during the connection process. The Lynx® S2S design provides high-pressure sealing and a flow path that remains completely closed, minimizing the risk of bacterial intrusion. It will secure the fluid path at a sterility assurance level (SAL) of 10-6 under the most rigorous conditions. Once assembled, the two components cannot be disassembled, reducing the risk of sterility breach. The male-female connection design adds safety to the process, limiting the risks of wrong connection in critical steps. Lynx® S2S: the only plug style device with a SAL of 10-6
