General description

2′-Deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate (dATP) is made up of a nucleobase attached to deoxyribose and a 5′-hydroxyl on the sugar bound to a chain of three phosphate residues. dATP is used by cells for synthesis of DNA by DNA polymerases.
dATP is a 100 mM clear, colorless solution of the lithium salt (pH 7).Download the CofA, SDS and IFU s

Application

2′-Deoxyadenosine 5′-triphosphate sodium salt solution is used in DNA sysnthesis reactions such as PCR, DNA sequencing and molecular cloning techniques.
Use dATP, lithium salt, for DNA sequencing, labeling, and all types of amplification reactions or primer-extension reactions.
dATP has been used to resume transcription.[1]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Deoxyadenosine-5-triphosphate (dATP) plays a major role in the initiation of apoptosis in vitro.[2] dATP is considered as an inhibitor of mammalian ribonucleotide reductase, thereby DNA synthesis.[3]

Analysis Note

Typical analysis:
  • ≤98% dATP (HPLC), ≤1.5% dADP (HPLC), ≤0.5% dAMP (HPLC)
  • Absorbance determination A250/A260, A280/A260, A290/A260
  • DNase activity negative, according to the current Quality Control procedures
  • Suitability for PCR

Other Notes

1 μmol dATP = 15.0 A260 units
For life science research only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.
Our PCR Grade deoxynucleotides are even purer than the lithium salts, to ensure excellent performance in your PCRs. PCR Grade deoxynucleotides contain the sodium salt of the nucleotide in PCR Grade Water.
For your convenience, some of our deoxynucleotides are also available in:
  • nucleotide sets (all 4 nucleotides in separate vials)
  • ready-to-use nucleotide mixes (premixed solutions of all 4 nucleotides)
They are also vital components of:
  • kits (dNTPs, buffer, and polymerase in separate vials)
  • ready-to-use mixes [polymerase, nucleotides, and buffer (premixed 2x solutions)]
