General description

Enterococcus faecium Selective Supplement is used for selective isolation and detection of Enterococcus faecium. Aztreonam present in the supplement inhibits gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The cephalexin inhibits most gram-positive bacteria but not Enterococcus species. The supplement is also recommended to differentiate Enterococcus faecium from Enterococcus faecalis
