General description

Reserpine is a 36 carbon indole alkaloid mostly used as a tranquilizing agent in medicine. It is mostly used as drug for hypertension.[1]

Application

It was used as mass recalibration standard in coupling capillary electrophoresis with electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (CE-TOFMS) to overcome the problem of decreasing the sensitivity during the detection of metabolome differential display.[2]
