Application

Selective medium used for the detection of contaminating/spoilage microorganisms in brewery.

Preparation Note

Suspend 66,3 grams of the medium in 500 ml of distilled water and 500 ml of beer without gas. Mix well. Heat for one minute with frequent agitation until the medium is completelydissolved. Sterilize in autoclave at 121°C for 15 minutes. Cool at 50°C and pour into Petri dishes.

The designations basic, plus, or prime are added to indicate the quality control level, from basic quality control to standard QC plus to prime for full regulatory compliance.
