Description

General description

Tazobactam sodium is the sodium salt of the β-lactamase inhibitor antibiotic, tazobactam. It is a semisynthetic parenteral penicillin which can be combined with piperacillin and ceftolozane drugs for treating a variety of infections.[1][2]

Application

Tazobactam sodium may be used as an analytical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography.[3][4]
