General description

Light Green SF Yellowish or Acid Green 5 is a triarylmethane dye that exists as disodium salt. It has the absorption value of 629 nm.[1]

Application

Certified for use as a cytological counterstain and as a substitute for aniline blue in Gomori′s one-step trichrome procedure.
Light Green SF Yellowish functions as an efficient histological stain for collagen. It is also used as colorant for foodstuff and beverages.[1]
Light Green SF Yellowish has been used to determine surface structures of trypsin treated tissue sections[2] and to stain buccal cells for slide scoring.[3]
