Menadione, a fat-soluble vitamin, is an antihemorrhagic compound that plays an important role in blood coagulation. It takes part in blood clotting by activating prothrombin, the thrombin precursor.

Application

Menadione may be used as an EP reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chromatography and spectrophotometry techniques.
