General description

Potato Dextrose Agar is a selective media, for Sclerotinia sclerotiorum. It is known to prevent the growth of other fungi. It is used for studying ascospores dispersal.

Application

Potato Dextrose Agar has been used to subculture S. sclerotiorum. It has also been used to cultivate fungal colonies derived from single spores.

Other Notes

Contains: Infusions from potatoes, glucose and agar.

Preparation Note

Solve 39 g in 1 litre distilled water. Autoclave 15 minutes at 121°C.

Analysis Note

Microbiologically tested.
