General description

Poly (ethylene glycol) (PEG) is non-ionic, hydrophilic and non-toxic polymer. It is widely used in the emerging field of polymer‐based drug delivery.[1] PEG is available in different molecular weights. It facilitates the purification and crystal growth of proteins and nucleic acids. PEG and dextran together result in aqueous polymer two phase system, which is required for the purification of biological materials. It also interacts with cell membrane, thereby allowing cell fusion.[2]
We are committed to bringing you Greener Alternative Products, which adhere to one or more of The 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is an eco-friendly, biodegradable polymer widely used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. Its non-toxic nature and versatility make it a sustainable choice, derived from renewable resources, contributing to greener product formulations. Click here for more information.

Application

Poly(ethylene glycol) has been used in the preparation of methyl cellulose (MC)-based polymer electrolytes.[3] It has also been used as a solvent to analyse the molecular weight cut off and rejection studies of nanofiltration membranes.[4]

Questions

1–3 of 3 Questions
  1. How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?

    1 answer
    1. Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. 2. What is the concentration of this product?

    1 answer
    1. The product P3015 is a neat liquid with a density of 1.1239 g/ml at 20°C. Assuming it is pure and has a molecular weight of 200, the molarity of this product is 5.62 M.
