Description

General description

Edetate Calcium Disodium is a metal-chelating agent, typically used for the treatment of symptomatic and severe lead poisoning.[1] It also finds application in the prevention of calcium depletion in the body. It can be used as a flavoring and color retention agent in food products.[2]

Application

Edetate Calcium Disodium may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by liquid chromatography technique.[3]
