General description

Herbicides in Soil - PT proficiency testing material is produced in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043:2010. This product is produced according to TNI requirements. However, please note, this sample may include non-TNI analytes as well. The PT portfolio allows our test components to offer significant performance data to monitor and prove competency to customers, accreditation bodies or both.

Supelco® is a global proficiency testing (PT) provider that manufactures best-in-class environmental and pharmaceutical PT products. We are the world leader in the manufacturing of real-world soil, sediment and sewage sludge PT products.

Type of PT Scheme:
Solids/Soils/Hazardous Waste

Matrix: Soil

Analyte/s: Values of analytes vary lot to lot.

All information regarding the use of Herbicides in Soil - PT can be found in the reporting packet which will be available to download at PT Portal.

Application

Herbicides in Soil - PT is a soil/hazardous waste proficiency testing material, suitable for testing herbicides in soil samples. Our soil PT samples behave as real samples; and, unless there is no alternative, are not simply spikes added to a blank soil. They are designed to meet the requirements of national, regional and state-specific accreditation bodies (TNI, USEPA, UKAS) for quality assurance and continuous improvement.

Preparation Note

Description

  • The PT sample size provided is 50 g of soil.
  • The soil has been chemically stabilized to minimize the degradation of the sample.
  • The PT sample has been sized to 100 mesh.
  • The required storage condition is 4 ºC.
  • The evaluation of results will be based on study statistics as required by TNI.
  • The sample has been intentionally prepared with an apparent headspace.

Sample Preparation

  • Mix prior to use.
  • Recommended minimum sampling size is 10 g.
  • Extract as defined in SW846, Extraction Method 3540B, 3541, 3550A or similar method.

Note: Sample extracts and calibration solutions should be in the same solvent.

  • Determine the percent moisture content of the sample and report results on a dry weight basis.
  • Report all results on a dry weight basis.
  • Analyze the extract using the appropriate method for which you are seeking accreditation.
  • Determine the concentration of the analytes listed, and report your results report your results in the PT Portal.
  • The method used must be reported.
