General description

Potassium iodide (KI) is an inorganic potassium salt. Alumina loaded with potassium iodide has been employed as catalyst for the transesterification of soybean oil with methanol.[1] Influence of KI on the in vitro generation of polymorphonudear leukocyte (PMN)-derived oxygen intermediates has been investigated.[2]

Application

Potassium iodide (KI) was used in the preparation of standard iodide stock solution for the determination of iodide by size exclusion chromatography.[3] It may be used in the spectrophotometric determination of advanced oxidation protein products (AOPP).[4]
