While this product, which is essentially pure liquid bromine, can be used to make a 3.5 percent solution of bromine in water (typically referred to as bromine water), we would recommend doing so only as a last resort. Liquid bromine is extremely hazardous to handle. We would encourage you to look for a commercial source of bromine water in your country. If such is not available, please work with the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) group at your institution to determine the best and safest practices for handling the liquid bromine and for preparing the solution you need; we do not provide the recommended method you requested. Be sure to read our Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for this product before ordering it.
Please note that pure liquid bromine is extremely dense; with a density of 2.91 g/mL, 100 grams of 207888-100G would have a volume of only about 34 mL.
Product 207888-100G is packaged in an amber glass bottle, with a cap that has a PTFE liner; the bottle is overpacked in a sealed polyamide bag, and the bag is then overpacked in a metal can, for transportation. For storage of bromine water, we would recommend the same type of bottle and cap used for the pure bromine.
Lastly: A saturated solution of bromine water contains approximately 3% bromine and 97% water by weight. So the concentration of 3.5% you mentioned may be beyond the maximum concentration you can make.

How can I determine the shelf life / expiration / retest date of this product?
1 answer-
If this product has an expiration or retest date, it will be shown on the Certificate of Analysis (COA, CofA). If there is no retest or expiration date listed on the product's COA, we do not have suitable stability data to determine a shelf life. For these products, the only date on the COA will be the release date; a retest, expiration, or use-by-date will not be displayed.
For all products, we recommend handling per defined conditions as printed in our product literature and website product descriptions. We recommend that products should be routinely inspected by customers to ensure they perform as expected.
For products without retest or expiration dates, our standard warranty of 1 year from the date of shipment is applicable.

How is shipping temperature determined? And how is it related to the product storage temperature?
1 answer-
Products may be shipped at a different temperature than the recommended long-term storage temperature. If the product quality is sensitive to short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped on wet or dry-ice. If the product quality is NOT affected by short-term exposure to conditions other than the recommended long-term storage, it will be shipped at ambient temperature. As shipping routes are configured for minimum transit times, shipping at ambient temperature helps control shipping costs for our customers. For more information, please refer to the Storage and Transport Conditions document: https://www.sigmaaldrich.com/deepweb/assets/sigmaaldrich/marketing/global/documents/316/622/storage-transport-conditions-mk.pdf
