Application

Atto fluorescent labels are designed for high sensitivity applications, including single molecule detection. Atto labels have rigid structures that do not show any cis-trans-isomerization. Thus these labels display exceptional intensity with minimal spectral shift on conjugation. Atto 488 biotin is suitable for fluorescence labeling of avidin/streptavidin conjugated molecules.

Investigations into the fate of small interfering RNA (siRNA) after transfection may unravel new ways to improve RNA interference (RNAi) efficiency. Because intracellular degradation of RNA may prevent reliable observation of fluorescence-labeled siRNA, new tools for fluorescence microscopy are warranted
