General description

Rhodamine B is a xanthene dye,[1] which functions as a water tracer fluorescent.[2] It is used as a staining fluorescent dye.[3]
Rhodamine B is bright-red in color.[4]

Application

Rhodamine B has been used:
  • as a fluorescent dye for cross staining 1-N-methylamino-5-isocyanonaphthalene (MICAN)[5]
  • as a fluorescent dye in confocal microscopy[6]
  • to study its fluorescence in water and ethanol solutions[7]

for cross staining of N-methylamino-5-isocyanonaphthalene (MICAN)[5]
