Gene Information

human ... MAPK14(1432)

Immunogen

Synthetic peptide directed towards the C terminal region of human MAPK14

Application

Anti-MAPK14 antibody produced in rabbit is suitable for western blotting at a concentration of 0.06 μg/ml. For immunohistochemistry of paraffin-embedded tissue sections, a concentration of 4-8 μg/ml is suitable.

Biochem/physiol Actions

MAPK14 (p38-α) is a tumor suppressor that inhibits cell proliferation and promotes apoptosis. In collaboration with TrkB protein, MAPK14 regulates the expression of transcription factors that are essential for bone growth and chondrocyte development in mice.

Sequence

Synthetic peptide located within the following region: YHDPDDEPVADPYDQSFESRDLLIDEWKSLTYDEVISFVPPPLDQEEMES

Physical form

Purified antibody supplied in 1x PBS buffer with 0.09% (w/v) sodium azide and 2% sucrose.
