Application

Neural studies
U-87 MG cell line has been used to study the effects of the lysosomal destabilizing drug Siramesine on glioblastoma.[1] It has also been used to study calcium-independent disruption of microtubule dynamics by nanosecond pulsed electric fields.[2]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Derived from a malignant glioma from a female patient by explant technique. It is reported to produce a malignant tumour consistent with glioblastoma in nude mice.

  2. Quante cellule per batch?

    1 answer
    1. This supplier cell bank, ECACC, states that adherent/attached cell line products are 2 - 3 x10^6 cells per vial, which would be the case for this product. Suspension cell lines from this supplier are 4 - 5 x10^6 cells per vial. They do not share 'batch' size information. For additional information please see the ECACC product page at the link : https://www.culturecollections.org.uk/products/celllines/generalcell/detail.jsp?refId=89081402&collection=ecacc_gc
