Description

General description

3-(Decyldimethylammonio)­propane­sulfonate inner salt, a zwitterionic surfactant, is a sulfobetaine.[1] Sulfobetaines contain a positively charged quaternary ammonium group and a negatively charged sulfonic group.[2]

Application

3-(Decyldimethylammonio)­propane­sulfonate inner salt was used:

• In a study to demonstrate a polyurethane chip that electrostatically binds to immunoglobulin G (IgG).[3]
• In a study to describe a method for isolating a high yield of Arabidopsis chloroplasts.[4]
• Solubilization of oleosins.[5]
