General description

Dicamba (3,6-dichloro-2-methoxybenzoic acid) is an organochlorine compound,[1] with plant growth auxin characteristics.[2]

Application

Dicamba has been used:
  • as an auxin to maintain wheat embryos post pollination[3]
  • as a Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplement to culture embryos[4]
  • as an auxin in induction medium to induce somatic embryogenesis in barely tissue culture[5]

Biochem/physiol Actions

Dicamba is a broad leaf growth regulator that mimics plant growth auxins.[1] Dicamba is used as a herbicide and is effective against glyphosate-resistant (GR) giant ragweed.[6]

Packaging
