The solubility of dexamethasone is <0.01 mg/mL in water and 24 mg/mL in H5784 (a 45% w/v solution of 2-hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin).
The product is soluble in 95% ethanol (1mg/mL), yielding a clear, colorless solution. A 20 μg/mL stock solution can be formed by adding 49 mL of media to 1 mL of a 1 mg/mL ethanol stock.
The solubility of dexamethasone in DMSO is 606 mg/mL at 25°C.
We would recommend that you store stock solutions in working aliquots frozen at -20°C. It is best to avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
They are the same except for the sterility. D8893 has been g-irradiated, so it is sterile. The D4902 is not necessarily sterile. Both are cell culture tested by Sigma.
